Protection

Protection addresses the network environment, including routers, switches, servers and storage, desktop devices, operating systems and applications, as well as specific security devices (such as firewalls, host/ network based intrusion detection, PKI infrastructure, encryption). Detection

Detection includes any mechanism for discovering anomalies in the network, including network intrusion detection and host agents. Forensic investigation is a form of detection and normally uses log scanners and various host (server) agents to track a range of activities. NetStar has a range of tools to assist with the laborious task of security log reporting.

Response
