NetStar to deploy UC in Melbourne's Crown complex

| NetStar Australia has locked ina multi-million dollar contract to roll out a unified communications system through the entire complex of Crown hotels in Melbourne.
The deployment will eventually see 7,500 Cisco IP handsets installed in the hotels, in addition toa new contact centre bristling with a number of UC technologies - including the facility to track each customer reservation adn request and monitor the time taken for staff to action each one. The handsets themseleves will allow guests multi-language access to guest services applications and also provide real-time interactive information on the hotel and local area.
Crown's Executive General Manager - Management Information Systems, Ric lamb, said "Crown was looking fora partner who,, could meet the challenge of integrating the new system with the existing PABX system during our period of reconstruction, " said Crown's GM for management infromation systems Ric Lamb.
