NetStar snags Cisco Unified Computing certification

NetStar has become the latest Australian aprtner certified to resell Cisco's Unified Computing solution as the networking colossus continues its bid to cement data centre dominance. The certification brings NetStar into a select group of UCS partners, alongisde Alphawest.

The UCS is a data centre platform designed by Cisco to reduce total cost of ownership and drive down the amoutn of power, cooling and cabling required, as well as limiting the number of physical devices requiring interaction, It was launched earlier this year, with global partners including Microsoft and Intel; Cisco is locking in its local partner base more slowly, with just three firms currently certified.

"We recently launched our data centre consulting division based on the cnvergence of IP networking, storage and server infrastructure in the corporate IT environment," said NetStar CEO Chris Meager.
